Empathy is being able to recreate another’s perspective of a situation, a phrase that relates to empathy is “walking in another persons shoes” (Adler, Rolls, & Proctor II, 2020). As nurses it is important for us to be empathetic with each other and with the patients which makes us susceptible to empathy burnout. Join us to learn about the symptoms and coping mechanisms for empathy burnout.

As future nurses, we must take time to care for ourselves. As nurses, we can better understand other nurses which will allow us to be empathetic with one another. Proper communication definitely is important in the workplace. It’s good to address coping mechanisms so that we can care for ourselves and better our empathetic capacity.

Brandon grape acting! I love the drama. Strong message and good job team!

Amazing work. The camera work and scenes were well organized and flowed nicely. It is very important to have debriefs and even workshops in order to get a sense of the nurse’s mindset. The communication demonstrated here really grasped the importance of communicating and supporting other nurses in the workplace in order to continually provide empathy in safe nursing care.
